Dear Colleague

Dr. Tristan Ehrlich — Course Director

Dr. Tristan Ehrlich and Prof. Hans-Joachim Schäfers

Over the past 25 years, aortic valve repair has progressively evolved into a standardized procedure, now offering excellent long-term outcomes when performed according to well-established principles.

The stepwise evolution from valve-preserving root replacement to reproducible and widely applicable aortic valve repair has largely been a European enterprise, championed by Prof. Gebrine El Khoury and Prof. Hans-Joachim Schäfers. In particular the geometric and numeric approach of Prof. Schäfers has provided one of the most robust and reproducible strategies for aortic valve reconstruction — a true “recipe” for success.

In this workshop, we want to share these concepts, shaped by more than two decades of clinical experience and systematic research. Our goal is to empower each participant to fully understand the underlying valve pathology, recognize its specific features, as well as understand and master the surgical strategies required for effective correction.

We are particularly honored to welcome Prof. Gebrine El Khoury and Prof. Hans-Joachim Schäfers who will share their unique expertise and insights.

The course has been carefully structured in a didactic manner to foster interactive learning. The limited number of participants (40) will ensure active discussions and personalized guidance.
